Kolasin

Kolasin is town and seat of the municipality of the same name in northern part of Montenegro, which covers 894 km² and has a population of 12.000 inhabitants. It is situated between Rivers Tara and Moracasurrounded by mountains  SinjavinaBjelasicaKomovi and Vucje. 

Near Kolasin located Jezerine ski centre with 15 kilometres of trails for comfortable skiing for day and night as they are illuminated by floodlights and the National Park Biogradska Gora, one of the three preserved virgin forests in Europe, at an altitude of 1.094 meters, with one of its beautiful lakes – Lake Biograd. 

Kolasin is located at 954 meters above sea level and offers a great vacation, both in winter and summer. 

There are two international airports in Montenegro:
– the Golubovci Airport in Podgorica, in the heart of the country, 80 km from Kolasin,
– the Tivat Airport in Tivat, the Bay of Kotor, 160 km from Kolasin,
– also, Cilipi Airport in Dubrovnik, Croatia, 220 km from Kolasin.

  • Partisan Memorial Cemetery: a historic memorial complex, dedicated to fallen
    patriots that were imprisoned in the Kolasin during World War II, on Breza hill;
  • Morača Monastery:  significant Orthodox monastery from the 13th-century, on the bank of the River Moraca;

  • Bjelasica Mountain: a major hub for skiing, hiking, and panoramic views, including the Bendovac viewpoin;

  • Sinjajevina Mountain: a vast mountain range popular for hiking and outdoor activities;
  • Biogradska Gora National Park: famous for one of Europe’s last three primeval forests and stunning glacial lake –  Biogradsko Lake   surrounded by hiking trails.
