Budva

Budva is coastal town and seat of the municipality of the same name in south part of Montenegro, which covers 122 km² and has a population of 27.445 inhabitants. It is situated on the Montenegrin coast, surrounded by the hinterland with impressive mountain ranges such as Lovcen and Rumija and the sea.

Budva is a a medieval town, more than 2.500 years old, and today it is metropolis of Montenegrin tourism and synonym for a Mediterranean nightlife, amazing beaches and the Old Town.

The Old Town of Budva is situated on a rocky peninsula, on the southern end of Budva field, that is a unique architectural and urban whole, surrounded by impressive medieval walls, complete with a fortress, towers, fortified city gates and a citadel with Mediterranean style stone houses, small squares, churches and other colourful places within.

Budva is a town of intense night life, beaches with various activities, large aqua park and luxury hotels at the very seaside so that place for the exciting holiday.

There are two international airports in Montenegro:
– the Golubovci Airport in Podgorica, in the heart of the country, 65 km from Budva,
– the Tivat Airport in Tivat, the Bay of Kotor, 22 km from Budva,
– also, Cilipi Airport in Dubrovnik, Croatia, 75 km from Budva.

  • Old Town: a fortified, narrow-street peninsula filled with Venetian architecture, beautiful churches, shops, and cafes
  • The Citadel: a medieval fortress within the Old Town offering panoramic sea and city views, featuring a library and restaurant;
  • The Dancing Girl Statue: a famous bronze statue on the path to Mogren Beach, perfect for photos with the Old Town in the background;
  • Saint Nikola Island (Hawaii Island): located opposite the Old Town, this island features beaches and scenic cliffs;
  • Mogren Fortress: ruins of an Austro-Hungarian fortress located near Mogren Beach;
  • Podmaine Monastery: a 15th-century Orthodox monastery situated just outside the city centre.

  • Sea Dance Festival: huge electronic music festival at the beach of Budva Riviera (Jaz Beach), attracting top international DJs and artists, in the Summer.
  • Petrovac Night: traditional festival of music, cultural activities, and free local food and drinks like fish, wine, and beer in the charming town of Petrovac, on the Budva riviera, in the end of August.
