Podgorica

Podgorica is city and seat of the municipality of the same name in central part of Montenegro, which covers 1.500 km² and has a population of 172.139 inhabitants. It is the capital and largest city of Montenegro, situated in Zeta valley among five rivers and near the remains of the ancient city of Duklja.  

Podgorica is founded in the 14th century, it became the city characterized by the harmony of traditional and modern architectural styles and harmony in a mix of old and new.  Nowdays,  it is the capital of Montenegro and the administrative, economic and cultural centre of the country.

There are two international airports in Montenegro:
– the Golubovci Airport in Podgorica, in the heart of the country, 12 km from Podgorica,
– the Tivat Airport in Tivat, the Bay of Kotor, 81 km from Podgorica,

– also, Cilipi Airport in Dubrovnik, Croatia, 153 km from Podgorica.
